Privacy policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Snipwell is a Shopify app made by NovaSoft (Georgia). This policy explains what data the app handles when a merchant installs it, why, and for how long. Snipwell is built for store owners and never collects data about your customers.
What we store
- Store identity: your myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app. The token is encrypted before it is stored.
- Store content we read: product, collection, blog and home pages of your public storefront, and product data (title, variants, barcode, vendor) through the Shopify API. We keep only the scan results: a score, a list of issues and the page URLs where they were found.
- Settings you enter: an optional storefront password (encrypted, used only to read your own storefront while it is password-protected), an optional alert email, and your alert preference.
- Billing status: the plan you chose and whether a trial or founding offer was used. Payments are handled by Shopify; we never see card details.
What we do not collect
No customer names, emails, addresses or orders. The app requests only the read-only read_products and read_themes permissions and never edits your theme, products or settings.
Why we use it
To add structured data to your storefront through a theme app embed, to scan your storefront for schema problems, to show the results in the app, to run scheduled scans and send alert emails on paid plans, and to apply the plan you chose.
Where it is processed
- Our server is hosted by Contabo GmbH in Germany (EU).
- Encrypted backups are stored with Backblaze (EU region).
- Alert emails are sent through our email provider only when you turn alerts on.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
While the app is installed. When you uninstall it, the access token is deleted at once. All remaining store data is deleted when Shopify sends the store redaction request (48 hours after uninstall), and in any case within 30 days. Encrypted backups expire within 6 months.
Your rights
You can see your scan data and settings in the app at any time, and remove the saved storefront password in Settings. You can ask us to export or delete your data by emailing support@novasoft.ge. We answer GDPR requests from the EU and UK and CCPA requests from California within 30 days. Shopify's own data requests are handled automatically through the mandatory compliance webhooks.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we show the new date here and tell you inside the app.
